Meet Deepdale Trees

Deepdale Trees is one of the UK’s leading specialist nurseries for semi-mature trees, shrubs and hedging. Since opening in Bedfordshire in 1995, we have grown into a trusted supplier to landscape professionals throughout the UK and Europe.

From our nursery in Potton, we grow and maintain an extensive selection of Air-Pot® and field-grown trees and plants. Today, our nursery holds more than 300 varieties in a multitude of forms across over 100 acres of UK production.

Quality has always been at the heart of Deepdale. But good plants alone are not enough. Our experienced team works closely with customers throughout their projects, combining horticultural knowledge with personal service and practical advice.

Product range

Quality trees and hedges for distinctive projects

Our range has been developed around the needs of professional garden and landscape projects. We specialise in hedging elements, hedging plants, conifers, pines, multistems, specimen shrubs, topiary, espaliers and shaped trees.

Our extensive Air-Pot® container production complements our field-grown stock and gives us greater flexibility throughout the year. Air-Pot® growing encourages the development of a highly fibrous root system, helping plants establish successfully after planting.

With more than 300 varieties available in a wide range of forms and sizes, there is plenty to choose from. And when a particular tree or plant is not available from our own stock, our trusted and fully plant-passported supply network across the UK and Europe allows us to source plants to suit specific project requirements.

History

Growing since 1995

Deepdale Trees opened its doors in Bedfordshire in 1995 with a small team and a clear ambition: to become one of the UK’s leading specialist tree nurseries.

Over the following decades, the nursery continued to grow. New nursery beds were developed, facilities expanded and investment in Air-Pot® container production created an increasingly broad range of trees and plants available throughout the year.

Today, Deepdale operates from over 100 acres of UK production in Potton. Our long-standing relationship with Smits Nursery in the Netherlands further strengthens our range and gives us access to additional specialist production and expertise when required.

What has remained unchanged is our focus on quality, knowledge and service. We continue to develop the nursery while staying close to our customers and the projects we supply.

The people behind Deepdale

Our reputation has been built on the quality and consistency of our plants, but just as importantly on the service and knowledge behind them. Every project is different, and our team takes a genuine interest in helping customers select the right trees and plants for the job.

That combination of quality stock, horticultural expertise and personal service is what Deepdale has stood for since 1995 and what we continue to build on today.

What we stand for

Quality, expertise and long-term relationships

At Deepdale, we believe good relationships are just as important as good trees. We work closely with our customers, taking the time to understand their projects and offering practical advice on species, form, size, availability and delivery.

Quality and consistency are fundamental to the way we work. Our experienced production team carefully grows and maintains our trees and plants, while our Air-Pot® and field-grown production gives customers access to a broad selection of high-quality stock.

Biosecurity and environmental responsibility are equally important. Our nursery and stock are regularly inspected, including by DEFRA, and plants sourced through our selected supply network are fully plant passported. We continuously look for ways to reduce water consumption, waste and our carbon footprint while encouraging wildlife throughout the nursery.

Above all, Deepdale is a working nursery with a knowledgeable team that cares about the plants we grow and the projects they become part of. Customers and their clients are always welcome to visit our nursery in Potton by appointment to view stock, compare trees and discuss upcoming projects with our team.
