Becoming experts takes time. Since 1995, Deepdale Trees has grown from a small team with an ambitious vision into one of the UK’s leading specialist tree nurseries.
Over the years, our nursery, our team and our range have continued to develop. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to quality trees, horticultural expertise and personal service.

Where it all began
Deepdale Trees opens its doors. With a small team and a clear ambition, we begin our journey towards becoming one of the UK’s leading specialist tree nurseries.
Putting down roots
Deepdale moves to Tithe Farm, giving the growing nursery a new home. This is also the year we purchase our first company vehicle – which we still have today.
Building our home
As Deepdale continues to develop, we build our first offices at Tithe Farm.
A lot has changed around the nursery since those early years. Looking back at photographs from the time shows just how far both the site and the business have come.
The nursery takes shape
We start the new millennium with further expansion. The first of our larger nursery beds are created, laying the foundations for the Deepdale nursery you see today.
A major milestone
After several years of growth and hard work, Deepdale exceeds £1 million in annual turnover for the first time.
Making room for a growing team
As both the nursery and our workforce continue to grow, our offices are extended to create more space for the team.
Investing in our nursery
A water borehole is installed to provide irrigation for our expanding nursery, supporting the growing number of trees and plants across the site.
The next stage of growth
In 2014, Deepdale Trees Ltd purchases Tithe Farm, an important step in securing the nursery’s future and creating more room for further development.
Another significant milestone
Deepdale reaches another important point in its development, achieving more than £1 million in turnover in a single month for the first time.
Expanding our reach
Our international activities continue to develop with the formation of Deepdale Trees GmbH in Germany.
Approaching 30 years of Deepdale
Almost three decades after opening our doors, Deepdale Trees continues to grow. Our nursery, range and expertise have developed enormously since 1995, while the principles behind the business remain firmly in place.
Deepdale Trees and Smits Boomkwekerij
Through our partnership with Smits Boomkwekerij in the Netherlands, we have further strengthened our international network and expanded the range and expertise available to our customers.
Our future
More than 30 years after Deepdale Trees began, we are still looking ahead.
We continue to invest in our nursery, our people and the way we grow and supply trees. From Air-Pot® production and biosecurity to sustainability and customer service, our aim is to keep improving while holding on to the knowledge, quality and personal approach that have defined Deepdale since 1995.
The nursery may look very different from when we first opened our doors, but our ambition remains much the same: to grow exceptional trees and provide our customers with the expertise and service to match.
